If your application is approved, the description will appear in the YAI Registered School online Registry and on www.yogaallianceafrica.com School Registry page (only for applicants from within Africa). Registered schools must include ethics in their curriculum and set an ethical example for their students
The assessment process involves review by the YAI committee and may take up to four weeks (depending on the documentation you provide) before Certification (if successful)is granted. It may be necessary for the committee to ask questions about your application or to seek further clarification via an online or face to face interview. If you refuse or fail to comply with our requests, your application will be annulled. Applicants are notified about the progress of their application in writing either by email or by post within four weeks from the lodgement date and will be advised on how to proceed making the payment/s. If the application is successful, upon receiving full payment we will email you the Certificate.
Once you are notified that your documents have been reviewed by the panel and approved, kindly make payment of 1000 Euros for life-time membership and certification of your course by Yoga Alliance International. Payment can be made in 2 or 3 installments at the discretion of the local director.

All YAI Certificates are issued in India only after full payment has been received by YAI’s Bank in South Africa. Please see bank account information below:

This code of conduct is a statement of acceptable ethical and professional behavior by which all certified schools agree to abide by. It is not intended to replace the ethics of any school but is to be a basis for yoga principles. As a member of YAI, I agree to follow these ethical principles:
Conduct myself in a professional and ethical manner.
Recognize the limitations of my skills and realm of practice and when appropriate, refer students to a specialised instructor.
Respect the privacy and personal rights of all students while supporting diverseness by respecting students regardless of age, physical limitations, gender, ethnicity, sexual orientation or religion.
Avoid words and actions that may be considered sexual harassment.
Follow the traditional yoga principles as written in the Yamas and Niyamas.
Follow all national and local laws that apply to my yoga teaching and business.
Maintain a safe, comfortable, and clean environment for yoga practice.

Declaration:

I understand that Yoga Alliance International may revoke my school's privileges at any time in case of failure to uphold the standards set forth in the above Code of Conduct. I swear that all information provided on this application is true to the best of my knowledge and I understand that acceptance of my application is at the sole discretion of the YAI Committee. I consent to meet the above conditions in order to be listed as a Certified Yoga School with YAI. I understand that false or misleading information on this application will result in repeal of these privileges and refusal of my application.
