The Living Yoga studio is more than just a space; it is a sacred space where students immerse themselves completely in yoga. We encourage our students to take their practice off the mat and into the world we all share. Established by Cherryl Duncan in 2006, the studio and the community that has sprung up around it has continued to grow under Sarah Bentz, a certified Jivamukti teacher and the current owner and director of Living Yoga in Craighall. Mindfulness is about paying extraordinary attention to the ordinary. It is about using all of our senses to live moment-to-moment with awareness. We may find that we are habitually lost in thought. Worrying about the past or the future. Or simply just stuck in our heads. This results in a disconnection from our immediate environment, our bodies and our feelings. The mindfulness practice is a simple way to help us reconnect with our bodies and inner resources again. It helps us ground ourselves in the present moment.
When explaining mindfulness to children, I often use the analogy of a pause button. Most children know what a pause button is and how to use it. Mindfulness is like the pause button on life. It helps us to pause and take notice of all that is around us and inside of us. It helps us to stop, breathe and be.

Pure Peace Yoga offers yoga classes for adults, children and pregnant women. Their classes are crafted and small, curated by lovers of the practice. They make use of a combination of traditional Hatha and Ashtanga asanas (postures), organic movement, meditation, as well as pranayama (controlled breathing) and chanting or singing (because it’s fun). They also have Yin and Restorative Yoga on the menu for balance and rest. Yoga is more than your body because you are more than your body.

Paul facilitates Yoga on a multi faceted level. Classes focus on Asana and Pranic Breathing and usually include Meditation and Sacred Sound.
Sacred Spiral Meditation is based in the Yogic technique of Samyama (Concentration - Dharana, Meditation - Dyhana, Absorption - Samhadi) to gain spiritual knowledge and bring one's life into a more harmonious alignment with one's soul and spirit.
The practice is available and suitable for all levels of abilities and age groups.

From over 30 years of training in Tai Ji, Qi Gong and Yoga, Paul has developed a breathing system - 'Pranic Breathing' incorporating these disciplines with traditional Yogic Pranayama.
